Zebra Crafts is Margorie Cline and Richard Vickaryous.
After an exchange to Zimbabwe in 1998 Margorie started importing small
quantities of handcrafts to fund a poultry project on a co-op farm. We
painted our old Volkswagon van in Zebra stripes and sold at festivals in
western Canada for a couple of years before opening our storefront in
Regina in the fall of 2002.
Making a couple of buying trips yearly we now import from Tanzania, Malawi, Zimbabwe and Morocco. We search out unique items from craftsmen that we get to know as well as local markets, co-operatives and roadside vendors. |
